Ordering repeat prescriptions

The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:

  • Patients can now submit their repeat prescription requests via our AccuRx triage system which can be found here https://accurx.nhs.uk/patient-initiated/g81029, using the “I have an admin query” option. Please ensure you complete your requests in as much detail as possible completing all sections of the form. Please note this service is only for repeat prescriptions. Any acute or one off medication requests should not be submitted through this service.
  • using your NHS account
  • using the GP online system: Patient Access

These accounts show you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need.

You can also:

  • fill out a repeat prescriptions request form, which can be dropped off at the surgery, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6.00pm or use the post-box next to the front door anytime.
  • via email using the following address:
    [email protected]

PLEASE NOTE:  We cannot take requests for prescriptions over the telephone.

Collecting your prescription

You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it.

You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
  • at your GP practice
  • at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, you can contact the Prescription Team during their phone-in times between 10.30am-11.30am and 3.15pm-4.15pm (Monday to Friday), on 01323 493106.

This line is strictly to deal with queries regarding prescriptions / medication, we are unable to take requests for repeat prescriptions.

You can also discuss your medicine with your local pharmacists. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.
